Relief Mission – Kanak, Mastung District

Location: Kanak (sub-division of District Mastung), Balochistan

Project Description:

Kanak is a remote tribal sub-division of District Mastung, situated in mountainous terrain with poor road access and limited public services. Many communities in Kanak live in hard-to-reach areas, often cut off from regular markets and public assistance.

UKMAP supported a relief mission to Kanak, implemented by CDRS Youth and Qadam, to deliver food and essential household supplies to families living in these isolated communities. Teams travelled across challenging mountain routes to reach those most in need, prioritising households experiencing severe poverty, high dependency ratios, or other vulnerabilities.

Beneficiaries: 52 families (312 individuals)

Impact:

The mission ensured that families in one of Pakistan’s most inaccessible regions received life-sustaining support. Beyond the immediate relief, the intervention demonstrated UKMAP’s commitment to equity in humanitarian assistance – reaching communities that are often overlooked because of geography. It also helped strengthen relationships with tribal and local leaders, laying the groundwork for future collaboration.
